Lucía Lainez

Pediatric Care Consultant

Lucía Lainez is a Pediatric Care Consultant and second-generation San Francisco native with roots in Nicaragua. With nearly 20 years of experience as a Bilingual Speech-Language Pathologist and early Feeding Specialist, she now partners with early childhood, pediatric healthcare, and wellness organizations to uplift the quality of care by centering staff well-being, cultural humility, and community-rooted practices.

Why She Does This Work

Lucía’s work centers on elevating the quality of care provided to children and families by nurturing the people who deliver it.

Whether working with leadership or frontline staff, she helps organizations create environments where equity, empathy, and accountability are part of everyday practice. Her consulting creates space for growth, rest, and reflection—key ingredients for long-term impact and sustainability in care work.

Her Approach

Lucía collaborates with organizations and professionals to develop custom curriculum, lead reflective training, and implement culturally grounded practices.

Her approach is not just about improving outcomes—it’s about transforming the culture of care from the inside out.

She mentors professionals in clarifying their voice, deepening their purpose, and confidently showing up as their full selves within systems that often demand otherwise.

Community Leader & Projects

Lucía is the creator of the Barrio Etiquette Series and the LaLa Community Series and Workbook—initiatives designed to amplify the voices of community-based professionals and improve Latinx pediatric outcomes.

She also contributes to birth equity as a member of the Community Advisory Board at UCSF’s Preterm Birth Initiative (PtBI), helping ensure community voice remains central in maternal and infant health work.

Her Values in Practice

Grounded in cultural humility, racial equity, and collective care, Lucía helps organizations and individuals shift from surviving to thriving—while keeping children and families at the heart of the work.
